Why we built it
We searched for software to answer what our futures could be and found nothing, so we had to build it ourselves. When can we retire? What's the real cost of having children? Is splurging on rent now eliminating my ability to pay for my future children's colleges? Unless you want to trust your future to rules of thumb (the 4% rule, the 50/30/20 rule, and so on), actually solving those questions while accounting for what is unique in your life takes serious math and spreadsheet skills.
Isn't this just like every other budgeting app?
Budgeting apps always end in the present. If you miss your budget, what's the impact to your retirement age? If you beat your budget, can you upsize your home? Every other app fails to do this because it involves a ton of math and is really difficult to do. Lucky for you, we can build Excel financial models in our sleep!
How it works
You securely link your financial accounts into our model (credit cards, checking accounts, savings accounts, 401(k)s, student and mortgage loans, and more) and provide assumptions about your future. Our algorithms project your entire future, year by year, searching for the best goal combinations that are feasible based on your actual life.
After a plan is in place, we compare your bank activity versus the forecast and provide you ongoing variance reporting. Fall behind, and you'll see a revised scenario for your life. Get ahead, and you'll be inspired to continue out-saving your forecast by seeing what that discipline unlocks.
Data security
We ask for sensitive financial details so the forecast can be accurate. Connections use HTTPS, we do not sell your data, and optional bank linking goes through Plaid so Yourcast never sees your bank password. How we protect your data →
Where we are
We are currently in the MVP stage, providing our software to friends and family to test. Within the next few months, we will finalize our banking connectivity and will enable our users to automatically link to their financial accounts.
